TAKE*5 project #TENNNNN (part I)

Posted by: lemonbarleystrawberry on: June 19, 2011

and now…let our adventures begin!!!

traveling light is easier than expected.

one hour and a half to paradise.

eight is a good number.

stupid new glasses are so big and heavy, can?

and i cant help but feel that i look like professor trelawney from harry potter.

not funny.

our tiger arrived at krabi international airport, which is surprisingly clean and spacious.

geek.

MUST fiddle with phone whenever there are pockets of lull time.

must-have holiday shot in hotel lifts.

while the service we received was not top-notch, ananta burin is quite a good resort in krabi aonang, especially for the incredible deal i got.

figured out the whole aonang beach within minutes.

lunch at the nearby nana restaurant was good.

and you would see we pretty much had the same thing over and over and OVER for the next three days, hahaha.

giam singaporean me took a photo with the cute little taxi from the back because i refused to pay for a trip.

all ready for some BEACH ACTION!!!

but the beach isnt really clean and there wasnt any sun so we…

got ourselves some pampering.

do not opt for anything other than the traditional thai massage if you dont like your body oiled.

yes they may name it anything – aloe vera gel or jasmine essence whatever shit. it’s OILY all the same, yikes!

and you may want to avoid this whole stretch of massage places at one end of the beach, where you have to lie in the open, side by side with fellow customers (male AND female) and where the masseur may suddenly loosen your bikini strings without warning.

yeah that freaked me out a little, even when i was lying face down and there were only kingsley and i at the shop at that moment.

tea time.

by the beach.

fruit smoothie is ♥, especially if it doesnt give you laosai the way those in batam do.

even the dogs love krabi.

and now…dinner.

as promised, same dishes as those we had for lunch, hahahaha.

breakfast at black canyon coffee cafe the next morning was not as good as expected so yes, we decided to stick to thai food for the rest of our trip (as if anything would change our mind in the first place).

no thanks to bad weather and choppy waves, our four islands tour got postponed and we had to formulate plan b immediately.

kinda disappointed but still…chill first.

we had the exact solution we needed.

geared up and off we went exploring, for…ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!!!

clear roads ahead.

vroom, vroom, vroom!!!

look who’s having fun!

stood on beautiful mountains.

posed with random decorative trains.

and saw more splendid seas.

oh yes it’s quite obvious that we love our scooter.

:) :) :)

pit stop.

we needed to refuel too.

and then we rushed back to the hotel for a dosage of vitamin D.

YUMS.

unfortunately, the sun in krabi is terribly shy and before long, it hid behind the ominous clouds again and the evil rains came pouring down.

after about an hour, we celebrated the clearing of skies with these sinful thailand pancakes.

totally worth getting fat for.

to not waste our afternoon away, we bought an elephant trekking package!!!

stepping into the big, scary jungle with fellow adventures junkies.

one sure way to know that we were at the right place – HUGE elephant crap all over the place.

there you are, dumbo!

and here comes another.

someone looks worried.

me?

absolute zen-ness.

let the tour begin!!!

crossing the river.

excited.

quite cool to think that we would now be featured in some angmo’s family holiday video and showed to many other angmos in some faraway angmo country.

prefer letting my legs dangle to stepping on poor little dumbo.

AWW…snuggling up.

ponds in the shape of elephants’ feet.

well-trodden paths.

lucky angmos got the friendlier and more interactive guide (and not to mention the bigger elephant, according to kingsley) who helped them take photos, teased them with random bugs in tree branches and let them sit in his position on the elephant’s head.

ours?

the only time he actually showed signs of life was when he suddenly jumped down from the elephant for a smoke.

angmo stared at him, appalled.

but he was not as appalled as i was when i watched his elephant shit while walking.

it’s as if it’s so massive it cannot even feel its own shit down its legs as it walks, hahahaha.

some parts of the trail were rather treacherous.

but it all felt like riding a very slow roller coaster, with steep dips and unexpected turns and upwards climbs.

surrounded by rolling mountains.

and now that we were back, the elephants deserved a good treat for their hard work.

chummy chummy.

:) :) :)

after our one-hour elephant ride, we headed for our favourite restaurant to while the time away.

they have singers who sing popular oldies very well; very tasty fruit smoothies and more importantly, one-for-one cocktails at insanely cheap prices.

but for kingsley, the perk was the free wifi.

i swear i wasnt this anti-social and geeky last time, damn it!

i cannot believe that i took THREE hours to blog this and i’m still not done yet!!!

and to my horror, i havent finished organising and editing all the photos, contrary to what i remember.

aww man, have never dreaded blogging so much before, hahaha.

so i shall stop here first, and continue with the last two days of my adventures in krabi some time later.

till then.
