TAKE*5 project #9 (part II)

Posted by: lemonbarleystrawberry on: June 9, 2011

i hope you wont get tired of reading about my room’s makeover, because there are still quite a few more to go, hahaha.

i will try to post less as time goes by, unless something really interesting crops up.

this time round, i focused on tidying up my beauty products like makeup, facial care products, perfumes, hair accessories and all those girly stuff that has sucked up most of my moolah, other than the usual culprits like clothes and bags.

my favourite luxury item – perfumes!

used to have more but i am cutting back now. you can see most of those that i have are already running out and i havent replenished them. kingsley’s nose is rather sensitive and he goes into those awful sneezing fits that are such a pain to see, so i dont wear perfume around him.

all other time when he’s not around, i just wear something light and cheap like those from body shop and maybe escada. only during special occasions do i indulge in my favourite anna sui or bvlgari.

oh well, i can go on and on about fragrances so let’s move on before it’s too late.

i dont have a lot of hair accessories because i only know how to tie ponytails and more recently, (untidy) hair buns.

eye makeup that i rarely use. again, i dont know any fancy makeup styles; i always stick to black eyeliner only. yeah…surprising right? for such a vainpot to be so private limited in the makeup department, hahahaha.

what i do have a lot are flower hair accessories. i love having flowers in my hair, hahahaha. and to my surprise, i have quite a few pair of shades. where have they been all this while?!?!

and look, i have childish hello kitty and eeyore boxes, wheeee.

and these, i have a lot too.

madness right? i should totally be an indian lor. but i have to emphasize that not all are bought by me.

some of them are gifts, which just happen to be golden in colour, like the rest that i got for myself.

i remember i bought mine at topshop for 6$? and i thought it was such a steal because it was on sale and everything. later, people keep telling me that i can get it for 1$ or something from little india.

thanks huh.

nemo suddenly came into my room and stood guard at the door. 老盧 is getting increasingly random nowadays.

i played with him for a while before going back to packing…sigh.

nail polish in impractical colours, something only young girls can pull off.

swee.

:) :) :)

began fixing up the box that i bought from ikea.

damn noob at DIY stuff.

got so frustrated that i nearly called their hotline for help.

you see, there is this very cute cartoon on the box that tells you how to get help for things you cant fix. but of course i wont call them, it’s just cardboard box, damn it. nevertheless, it’s reassuring to know that i have that option.

SEOUL!

it’s actually a little flimsy and i think one of the boxes is rather lopsided and cant close properly or something, but it will do until i see something i like better.

and the best thing about it?

i can keep deadly weapons in it and nobody would know any better. hiak hiak hiak.

found yet another mirror.

cute stickers. i remember liking them so much i couldnt bear to use them on ANYTHING, which kinda defeats the point.

cheerfully coloured stationery.

language books. i didnt even learn french, so how i got that, i have no idea. the other is a book that teaches japanese daily conversations anyone interested in any of these, please let me know!!! i can give you for free.

reusable tissue packets that everyone mocks me for.

quite nice what, i specially bought them from somewhere because the little girls used to be my favourite cartoon characters for a while.

cannot remember the name of the cartoon though, but they are kinda like the second generation of sailormoon. and the other one…is just plain cute can?!?!

now they are all in the bin, happy? everyone’s been telling me how pointless these tissue packets are, so i’m dumping them, hahaha.

i’ve kept some newer ones though, just in case one day i feel like changing the one i’m using (with the pink little girl design).

most of the time, i’m just too lazy to bother.

“this ribbon belongs to becky lo”.

like anyone else would want it. i bought it when ribbon craft was the hippest thing in primary school.

but just like for all other DIY things, i was so bad at it. in the end, i was often stuck with fat, ugly ribbon chains that i didnt know what to do with.

oh well.

and here, a good camwhore can take endless photos with whatever object she’s given, like stickers customised with her name.

i love my name ok!

next, i defaced my wall so that i could put up all the frames that i had made the several ikea trips for.

flounder pencil holder looks weird without all the pens in it. but then again, i’m already out of school, so i no longer need those pens, many of which have no ink anyway.

reminder for myself.

one of my favourite christmas presents, from wendy a few years ago.

nodding doll only nods its head when there is light, which is why i’m keeping it right under my table lamp.

gotta look for a place for my bright little daisies.

right in front of me so i can look at it and be happy everyday.

a neat, clean table where i can blog and surf the net (hopefully no more deskbound work for me from now on).

bought these at a SPCA flea market but now, they gotta go because i want clean walls. no more childish posters or pictures because i’m all GROWN UP now.

no clutter.

except for those hideous boxes of shoes which i have no idea how to dispose of. hmm…gotta think of a way to get rid of them one way or another.

shall get to that in a while.

in the meantime, a short update about project #1.

results for my spanish exams, and for that matter, my beloved fyp, are out.

A- for both. though i wish i have bagged a distinction for spanish, i’m quite surprised and relieved about our fyp grade. all the efforts did pay off after all, phew.

still…0.1 to a first class.

never felt soooo disappointed about my results before.

let’s hope my summer school can make a difference, though my hopes are not high.

four years of university life, gone just like that, with just 0.1 to something worth feeling proud of.

sigh…

that’s the end of my update. will find time to finally post my 10th and final project for TAKE*5!!!

:) :) :)

I also rarely comment on blogs but I must this time. OMG I HAVE THOSE EXACT SAME SPCA POSTERS!!!! Just those two and I had them for years, but I had to toss them when I repainted my walls hahah

i remember i used to have an organiser from the same event, i used to love those SPCA booth so much i would specially look out for them on the website, hahaha. wanted to repaint my walls too, those posters and some old photos that i had on the wall left hideous marks that cannot be erased. dread the work though, eek! :(

I can adopt the japanese conversation book! =)
